You will join the CTO Database Tooling & Inventory POD which operates the global database inventory tool, which is an inhouse development, as a PHP developer.

The POD is responsible for ensuring all global databases are listed completely and accurately, including the various data points needed to ensure complete inventory. The database inventory is pinnacle to uplift various controls. The tool consists of MSSQL back-end database, with web service allowing services related to database management.

As part of the team your interactions will be with team members in UK, Poland and India with internal users across the globe. Duties will cover customer engagement support and fulfilment, engineering and support, driving automation, performance, availability and value from the product. Upskilling to support these outcomes is supported and encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • The main remit of this role is to uplift the existing Database Inventory tool to ensure compliance/regulatory adherence.
  • Gain an understanding of the current application design and develop, implement and support automation of existing common or complex activities, in order to simplify the design and processing.
  • Deliver solutions based on customers’ requirements.
  • Design and build monitoring reports and dashboards for service observability.
  • Support users with best practices and technical queries.
  • Support the existing team and knowledge share where necessary.
  • Some extent of admin work, related to requesting items from other teams, managing workload and change management processes.

Requirements

  • Experience with a scripting or programming languages such as PHP (Must)
  • Experience with Git and GitHub.
  • Experience with automation products such as Ansible and Jenkins
  • Experience with a scripting or programming language.
  • Experience of Agile ways of working.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently.
  • Proactive mindset with a high sense of ownership.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills as the job role involves interaction with multiple stake holders across the globe + Senior management.
  • English skills
  • At least 4 years of experience
  • [will be a plus] Previous experience with application design simplification
  • [will be a plus] Understanding of creating solutions that consume APIs.
  • [will be a plus] Some knowledge of database technologies like MSSQL
  • Occasionally require working in UK business hours (10-18 PL Time)
