The Cloud Security Engineer (CSE) form part of the Cloud Engineering team and are primarily responsible for building and maintaining a secure cloud environment for hosting and for maintaining the cloud security tools that are used to secure production clouds. This is a proactive role, and the successful candidate will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and a desire to learn new technologies. The position ensures the timely delivery of high-quality secure cloud services and projects supporting the company’s infrastructure and operations. This position will also engage in resolving complex performance issues across enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities
- Collaborating with the Inhabit’s Information Security and compliance team to develop Inhabit’s Cloud security architecture and maturity standards.
- Evaluate and respond to alerts and events from the security tools, including tuning of tool configuration to minimize false positives, development of event response documentation and processes for Security Operations Center response to follow for event actions, and escalating to appropriate teams for event response.
- Develop and maintain documentation and diagrams for security tools, system environments, and cloud operations.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Work within a DevOps security model so that security is automated and elastic across all cloud platforms.
- Work closely with functional-area architects, engineering, and security specialists throughout the company to ensure adequate security solutions and controls are in place throughout all cloud systems and platforms to mitigate identified risks sufficiently, and to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for automating security controls, data and processes to provide better metrics and operational support.
- Interpret Cloud security and technical requirements into business requirements and communicate security risks to relevant stakeholders ranging from senior IT leadership to engineers.
Requirements
- 2+ years with cloud security
- 2+ years of experience with IaaS environments such as MS Azure, AWS, GCP
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture, access control, security groups, and core technologies (such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, Routing, VPN)
- Understanding of modern cloud technology components and deployment patterns: virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, serverless, infrastructure as code, etc.
- Experience in developing infrastructure-as-a-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
- Experience implementing & administering large scalable cloud environments
- [nice to have] Bachelor’s degree in MIS, technical discipline, or equivalent experience
